Personal Philosophy
I always strive to have a welcoming, warm atmosphere where the transition is easy from home to school. I want to provide a safe and inviting space where all children feel cared for. Opportunities, relationships, patience, and working together is something we always aim for. I want to be a great role models for my students and for them to want to do and be better. Social emotional learning is now more than ever important in young children’s lives. Children learn to regulate their emotions, thoughts, feelings, and behavior by watching and responding to adult self-regulation Bringing these ideas to my classroom has allowed me to be flexible in my thinking, have better engagement, and provide a space where everyone is respected and loved. As an educator I aim to provide a safe and inviting space where all children feel cared for and a space where they are inspired to explore their ideas and learn new things.
It is my goal to challenge my students daily, with learning that is meaningful, promising, engaging and fun. Something that I have always strived for in my classroom is inquiry or play based learning. Play based learning is where children are more motivated to learn and develop a positive attitude towards their learning when they are involved in experiences that are meaningful and encourage them to develop lifelong skills. They work on cooperation and team building, planning with peers, and expressing ideas through play.
Building relationships are also an extremely huge part of play-based learning. Students will develop communication skills and feel comfortable working with others productively. Students also need to develop that strong relationship with their teacher for them to feel safe, comfortable, and confident enough to branch off into their learning. When students feel supported, they’re more ready to engage in new learning, have more fun, and have better success in the classroom.
My philosophy encompasses that every child is unique and must have a stimulating, fun, safe environment where they can grow. My hope is that every day my students can take away something positive and inspiring. I want them to walk away at the end of the day and know that I love and believe in them.
